Countesthorpe Academy is delighted to report outstanding achievements by Year 11 students in their GCSEs following last week’s A-Level successes.

Year 11 students have achieved a fantastic set of results. Our highest achieving students achieved grades 8s and 9s across the board which is truly amazing! These fantastic results are testament to the resilience, determination, and hard work of our students. Some students have overcome particularly challenging circumstances making incredible progress in the face of adversity.

We are so proud of our students, and these results reflect all their hard work and commitment. We’re delighted that so many have chosen to stay on in our Sixth Form too with applications still being accepted. Interested students should contact Mrs Challinor kchallinor@clcc.college to find out more.

Catherine Aitcheson, the school’s headteacher said: “Our students have been brilliant and have worked relentlessly to ensure they got the best possible grades. The dedication, commitment to working hard and support of the staff has ensured our students are ‘the best they can be’. We are so proud of all our students and their achievements today, and they all should be congratulated on a brilliant set of results; there is a huge amount to celebrate.’

Gareth Williams (Executive Headteacher) said: “Our students should be proud. They have achieved fantastic results. These results show not only what they have learned but also that they can overcome challenges. And now they are ready to take their next step. Many of them will continue their learning at Countesthorpe, where they will be joined by students from other schools across the County. We look forward to welcoming them all.”

Countesthorpe Academy is delighted to report fantastic achievements by our students in their A levels and Level 3 qualifications this summer.

The excellent results received by our students reflect their hard work, dedication and commitment over the last two years. Our team of committed staff have supported students through their studies, and we are all extremely proud of what has been achieved. A Level and Level 3 qualifications are challenging and to succeed requires unwavering determination and resilience.

Our top achieving students have secured places on a range of courses including Economics at the University of Leicester, International Disaster Management at the University of Manchester, Theology at the University of Leeds, and Environmental Science at the University of Plymouth. Students have also secured apprenticeships across a range of disciplines, and these are becoming an increasingly popular alternative to degree courses.
The diverse range of courses and apprenticeships our students can now access with their great results is testament to their resilience, determination and hard work. Some students have overcome particularly challenging circumstances making incredible progress in the face of adversity.
All our students have lived out our Countesthorpe values of ‘being the very best they can be.’

Catherine Aitcheson, the school’s headteacher said: “Congratulations to all our students. Today we see the rewards of two years of commitment, dedication and sheer hard work. Our students thoroughly deserve the grades they have achieved today. We are extremely proud and wish them all the very best as they take their next steps to university, apprenticeships, and employment”.

Gareth Williams, the school’s Executive Headteacher said “Today is a day to celebrate all the hard work our students have put in over the last two years. We’re extremely proud of the excellent results achieved showing that Countesthorpe Academy is a vibrant and successful destination for post 16 learners.”

Countesthorpe Academy Students are talented, creative and community minded, so it’s no surprise to see them contributing to this year’s Cosby Yarn bomb!

Held each year, the Cosby Yarn Bomb is created by residents of Cosby and members of the local community. This year the theme was Fun & Games, Mischief & Mayhem.

Countesthorpe Academy students supported this event by designing and creating some supporting elements for the Sonic the Hedgehog section.

If you visited the Yarn Bomb this year we are sure you were impressed by the displays and talents of everyone involved, and it’s great to see our students helping this amazing enterprise.

We are looking forward to seeing Year 13 students (and Year 12 students who are collecting Level 3 results) at 8:30am on Thursday 15th August in the Sports Hall.

Please enter the Sports Hall via the side gate near the sports tunnel.

There will be staff available to support you, following the receipt of your result, throughout the morning.

UCAS has lots of useful guidance and support to help you prepare for the day – https://www.ucas.com/undergraduate/clearing-and-results-day/results-day
