As a College we have an emphasis on pride in our community. A visible indication of this is in the standard of students’ uniform. We have received many positive comments this half term on the impressive standard of uniform. We need to be consistent in all aspects of our work and there are still a number of students who are not in correct uniform.
Please be aware that the College has made our expectations in terms of uniform very clear. We will continue to put sanctions in place for any student who does not adhere to our policy and there is always the risk that a student could be sent home from college for failure to comply.
Teacher time spent challenging uniform distracts from our principle purpose of teaching and learning.

We currently have two main areas of concern:
- All students having a suitable coat for poor weather (we do not allow hoodies, leather jackets, tracksuit tops)
- Girls skirts should be knee length (we do not allow Lycra skirts, denim skirts, tight skirts, skirts with a pattern)

Tutors are asked to monitor uniform on a regular basis and to contact home should concerns arise.
While I do understand the frustration that other students are not wearing the right uniform may I take this opportunity to reassure you that we expect each tutor to follow up uniform issues each day. Tutors will set a detention every day and liaise with parents. The leadership team are on the gate each morning to meet and greet the students, and to reiterate the uniform and behaviour expectations.
In choosing to send your child to this college you have agreed to our policies in terms of uniform and behaviour.
