ParentPay

Countesthorpe Leysland Community College is pleased to anounce the introduction of cashless catering and online payments via ParentPay.com

Cashless catering will allow students to use their ID card to pay for food and drinks at break and lunchtimes in our dining areas.

Parents can add money to their child's dinner money account by logging into ParentPay and using a credit/debit card, or if you choose, using a PayPoint location such as your local shop*.

Parents will also be able to pay for school trips, equipment and other items using the ParentPay website.

*To use a PayPoint location you will require a PayPoint card - please contact the College for details on how to obtain one.

How cashless catering works

Every student in Countesthorpe Leysland Community College will be issued with an ID card. This ID card can be used to identify students in our school and with our different systems. For instance students will be able to borrow books from the library, use the College photocopiers by presenting their ID card or pay for their lunch.

This ID card has a special chip inside it, much like contactless credit and debit cards. Like contactless credit and debit cards, no money is stored on the chip itself. Instead the chip is there to securely identify students with our tills and then the money is automatically transferred from their ParentPay account.

Students will choose their snacks and lunch as normal and when checking out at the till simply place their card on our new card readers. The money will automatically be deducted from your ParentPay account and the till will update your parent pay account with the details of what the student has purchased.

Simple!

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if my child loses their card - can they still get some lunch?

If your child loses their ID card they will need to purchase a new one as soon as possible. In the meantime we will be able to issue them with a temporary ID card that will allow them to use all our systems, including the Cashless Catering system as normal.

What happens if I forget to top up my child's ParentPay account?

If your child's balance is insufficient to pay for their meal, they will be allowed to have a meal up to £2.30 on the first day only. A text / reminder will be sent to parents so they can top up.  The cost of the meal provided to the student will be deducted from the top up.

Can you remind me when my child's dinner money balance is low?

ParentPay allows parents to purchase text message bundles. This bundle of 40 text messages (priced at £2.40) will be used by ParentPay to automatically send you a text message to your mobile phone when your child's dinner money is low.
