KS3 Science Club

Science for Years 7,8 & 9 is every Friday 3pm - 4pm in S03C.

Older pupils in KS4 or KS5 are welcome to come and support younger students as ambassadors if they are interested- please speak to Dr Francis or Mrs Fox if you want to help.

Our current project, during the spring term, will be around the chemistry of plastics, their disposal and recycling. As well as learning about plastics and global issues regarding waste plastics, we will be carrying out some experiments and investigations into how plastics are made and making bio plastics. Towards the end of the project we will be developing some ideas to reuse or recycle plastic in unique ways and developing some enterprise skills.

At the end of the project- if you have attended a minimum of 4 or 5 sessions you could achieve a Crest Award.

In addition regular attendees of Science club will get a priority invitation to a Science trip to the big bang fair in March and could end up taking part in a Chemistry competition in June if they prove themselves to be talented and enthusiastic Scientists!

If you have any further questions please speak to Dr Francis or Mrs Fox.
