Academy in Action Tours

Dear Prospective Parent/Carer,

Traditionally Countesthorpe Academy (formally Countesthorpe Leysland Community College) holds an Open Evening early in September where we invite the whole community to come and see the great work that takes place. Due to health and safety issues and our desire to protect members of the public, our staff and our students we cannot hold our Open Evening in the same manner.

Many of you will have already visited the Academy before. If this is the case, we would ask that you take a virtual online tour of the Academy that will be on our website on 17th September 2020. Here you will be able to see the Principal’s presentation, find out about our “Real Life Curriculum” that is bespoke for schools part of the LIFE Multi-Academy Trust, hear from subject teachers and view some amazing lessons.

If you have not had the opportunity to visit the Academy before, we are delighted to invite you to our Academy Open Mornings where you will be given a tour of the Academy by a member of the senior leadership team. These tours will begin on 21st September 2020, last for 40 minutes, and give you an opportunity to see the Academy in action. As the safety of our staff and students is of paramount importance we are limiting each ticket to one parent and one child. The tour will have a maximum of 3 households (6 people) who will be asked to maintain social distancing throughout their tour. Throughout your time in the building we ask that you all to wear a facial covering (unless you have an underlying health condition which prevents you from doing so).

These mornings are a ticket only event. Tickets are for a specified timeslot and it is important that you arrive on time. Tickets are free and can be accessed via the Academy website or booked directly by visiting https://bit.ly/35p2yRG. Tickets are on a first-come-first-served basis. If you do not have a ticket you will not be allowed entry into the Academy. If you are experiencing difficulty booking a ticket, please contact our Main Reception on 0116 2771555.

Please do not attend a tour if you or any member of your group are exhibiting any symptoms of the Coronavirus or have been informed by the Track and Trace Service of a need to isolate.

You may be aware that we were successful in our bid for a new building to replace the old Leysland building. The groundworks for this exciting project are well underway, however a consequence of this work is that parking onsite is limited. Please be considerate of our neighbours if you park on the local streets.

We take the transition from primary school to Countesthorpe Academy very seriously and have created a very successful transition model. Throughout the year we will continue to be in contact with you, and as soon as is safe to, look forward to welcoming you all into the Academy

We look forward to working with you.

Mrs C Aitcheson

Principal
