As part of our expanding language curriculum, Year 7 students recently enjoyed an immersive Spanish Café experience designed to bring classroom learning to life. The event gave students the opportunity to practice their Spanish in a fun, real-world setting by ordering food and drinks en español.
The café offered a delicious selection of breakfast options, including freshly made churros, madeleine cakes, fruit, hot chocolate and orange juice. Students confidently used their growing language skills to place orders, listen attentively and respond appropriately, all while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of a Spanish café.
This engaging experience not only reinforced key language skills such as speaking and listening but also helped students build confidence and enthusiasm for learning Spanish. By combining culture, communication and cuisine, the Spanish Café provided a memorable and meaningful way to enrich students’ learning beyond the classroom.

We were proud to see our Stephen Lawrence Ambassadors visit Thomas Estley Community College to deliver their powerful anti-racism assembly to Year 8 students.
The ambassadors spoke with confidence, honesty and passion, inspiring meaningful conversations and reflection among their peers. We’re especially excited that Thomas Estley will now be launching their own Stephen Lawrence Ambassador group, who will work in collaboration with our ambassadors as they develop and grow.
We couldn’t be prouder of the hard work, commitment and courage our students have shown in creating and delivering these assemblies. Their voices are making a real difference, inspiring young people across the region to stand up for equality, respect and inclusion. 👏

This week at Countesthorpe Academy, our Stephen Lawrence Ambassadors have been leading a powerful series of assemblies to mark Stephen Lawrence Day.
Through their presentations, our ambassadors have highlighted who Stephen Lawrence was, the vital work they do within our school community, and why it is so important for us all to be actively anti‑racist. They spoke confidently and thoughtfully, encouraging students to reflect, challenge prejudice, and stand up for fairness and equality.
We are incredibly proud of their commitment and leadership—and the impact of their message doesn’t stop here. Next week, our ambassadors will be taking their assembly to Thomas Estley Community College, where they will be presenting to Year 8 students, continuing to share these important conversations beyond our own school.
Well done to our Stephen Lawrence Ambassadors for representing Countesthorpe Academy with such maturity and purpose. 💛
