Year 11 – Power to Perform

Our new Year 11 students are only two full terms away from their final examinations in the summer of 2019. Crucial mock examinations are approaching in November and our Year 11 Power to Perform evening will give you an opportunity to hear practical strategies that will help you to help your child achieve the best possible grades and maximise their chances for GCSE success between now and next June. Hopefully, from my letter at the end of the summer term you will already have noted the time and date of our Power to Perform evening.

The evening takes place in the Countesthorpe Theatre at 6pm on Tuesday 4thSeptember and will last no more than one hour.

Research shows that parental involvement has a significant impact on achievement throughout the years of schooling and is a more powerful force than family background, size of family and level of parental education. As such, we want to equip parents with the tools to further assist their children and this evening forms part of this approach.

You will hear from the Principal and Senior Assistant Principal who will describe how Year 11 will unfold, the key dates and important events we have planned to prepare students this year. In addition, we will be giving you practical ideas about how you can help at home.

Our Heads of English and Maths will share with parents effective ways to get involved with those subjects and boost students’ grades. At the end of the evening you will be given a list of key dates and actions to take home.

We look forward to seeing you at the evening.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs C Aitcheson

Principal
