Students and staff at Countesthorpe Academy are celebrating today after receiving an outstanding set of A-level and Level 3 results, marking one of the school’s strongest academic performances in recent years.
This year’s results reflect the hard work, determination, and resilience of students, who have excelled across a wide range of subjects. With a significant number achieving top grades, many students have secured their first-choice university places, apprenticeships, or employment opportunities.
Standout achievements include:
⭐️ A record number of A* and A grades awarded.
⭐️ Exceptional individual performances, with students gaining places at prestigious Russell Group universities.
⭐️ Continued strongoutcomes for vocational qualifications, allowing students to progress to competitive higher-level apprenticeships.
Our top achieving students have secured places on a range of courses including Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge and History of Art at the University of Birmingham to name a few. Students have also secured apprenticeships across a range of disciplines and are becoming an increasingly popular alternative to degree courses.
The diverse range of courses and apprenticeships our students can access with their superb results is testament to their resilience, determination and hard work. Some students have overcome particularly challenging circumstances making incredible progress in the face of adversity.
All our students have lived out our Countesthorpe values of ‘being the very best they can be.’
Catherine Aitcheson, the school’s headteacher praised students saying, “We are incredibly proud of all our Year 13 students. Their achievements are the result of years of commitment, perseverance, and the unwavering support of our dedicated staff and parents. This year’s success is a testament to what can be achieved when ambition meets hard work. We know our students will go on to do remarkable things.”
Kerry Challinor, Head of Sixth Form added, “Our Year 13s have been a joy to work with. They’ve supported each other, embraced challenges, and shown true grit. We are excited to see what the future holds for each and every one of them.”
Gareth Williams, the school’s Executive Headteacher said, “Today is a day to celebrate all the hard work our students have put in over the last two years. We’re extremely proud of the excellent results achieved showing that Countesthorpe Academy is a vibrant destination for post 16 learners.”
