⭐️ Outstanding A-Level Results ⭐️

Countesthorpe Academy is delighted to report outstanding achievements by its students in their A levels and Level 3 qualifications this summer.

Many of our students have overcome significant adversity which adds to their success today. However, resilience is one of our core values as is success and our students have shown both of these in abundance. Four of our students have achieved a full suite of top A* grades.

Our two top achieving students, who between them, achieved 8 A* grades have both secured places at Cambridge studying Medicine and Natural Sciences. Students at Countesthorpe are following a wide variety of course including Law at LSE, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Loughborough and Bath, Children’s Nursing at Sheffield Hallam, and Business at Portsmouth. We are really proud of the diverse range of courses and apprenticeships our students are able to access with their great results.

This year is the first year since 2019 that students have sat external exams. We have always known that this year was a ‘transition year’ between 2021 (when assessment was done directly by schools and colleges) and 2019 (the last year exams took place). This means that overall grades will be about halfway between the two nationally.

Catherine Aitcheson, the school’s headteacher said: “We are extremely proud of our students and all they have achieved. Our students have overcome significant challenges. Their determination and resilience has been commendable! Congratulations go to all our students who have worked exceptionally hard and thoroughly deserve the grades they have achieved today. We wish them all the very best as they take the next step to university, apprenticeships, and employment”.

Gareth Williams, the school’s Executive Headteacher said “Following the turbulence students have faced over the past two years we’re extremely proud of the excellent results achieved showing that Countesthorpe Academy is a vibrant destination for post 16 learners.”
