CLCC Student on Cloud 9

Nine 9s and an A*!!!

GCSE results day was a day of celebration for a huge number of our students but for Georgia Capewell it truly was a day to remember. Georgia, along with other students in the college waited with nervousness for their results in the first year of new qualifications and uncertainty about what lay ahead.
This year, for the first time, the majority of GCSEs were reported in numbers rather than grades. A*-G have been replaced with a new 9-1 grading system where a 9 is the top grade. It has been made clear that under the new tougher and more rigorous GCSEs, only small numbers of students throughout the country would be awarded a grade 9.

This did not deter Georgia who achieved an incredible set of results securing 9 grade 9s and one A*. She is one of only 730 students throughout the country to achieve a set of grades at this level. Given over 5million GCSE exams were taken by students this year, the magnitude of her success is clear.

This is a truly remarkable set of results reflecting Georgia’s dedication, commitment and ability to perform consistently under tough exam conditions. She is thoroughly deserving of this set of results.

Georgia will be returning to the Sixth Form at CLCC to study her A Levels. We are extremely pleased for Georgia and are confident she has a very bright future ahead.
