Raising the BAR for Remote Education

We would like to thank you all for your support and kind messages during these challenging times. Our pupils are working extremely hard and engaging well with their remote education. We want to update you on how we are ‘raising the bar’ for our pupils during their remote education, in line with our current approach when delivering face to face lessons in school during normal times.

At Countesthorpe Academy we are always making improvements to our remote education and continue to support our pupils access their curriculum, ensuring progress in their learning. We recognise the fantastic work our pupils complete, celebrating the progress they make in their learning across all subjects, as well as meeting our high expectations for pupil behaviour and attendance.

Our focus on ‘raising the bar’ with remote education has a levelled approach, focusing on behaviour, attendance, and recognition.

During remote education, including live lessons, we expect pupil behaviour to demonstrate respect, resilience and success, as well encouraging pupils to thrive and ‘be the best they can be’. If these standards are not being met, our team of staff will make contact to support your child, which will follow a levelled approach, from a text home, to a possible online parent meeting. To continue raising attendance and engagement in remote education, we will monitor each pupil and intervene where necessary, providing support if your child has not been able to, or has not attended their live lessons.

Finally, and most importantly, we really want to celebrate the amazing remote learning taking place. During lessons, teachers will be providing verbal praise to their pupils, as well as distributing ‘Teams praise stickers’. Departments will also make positive phone calls home, posting out praise postcards, sending emails, and nominating a ‘remote learner of the week’, who will be entered into a weekly prize draw to win a £10 voucher!

At Countesthorpe Academy we recognise the amazing work from our students and continue to drive high standards of behaviour and attendance/engagement with remote learning. As we continue to make improvements to our provision enabling all our pupils “be the best that they can be”, I hope that you might play a part in helping us improve? Parent voice is always important to us, but since you are now playing such an incredible part in the process of remote education, we would very much like to hear your thoughts. We would be grateful if you could take a few minutes and complete this survey (link below), the results of which will help inform us of area we can improve on next.  Please click the following link to be directed to the survey - http://bit.ly/2LYr7NC

We thank you in advance for your support.

Regards,
