🌟 Empowering Future Leaders at the Blaby Youth Conference! 🌟

Last week, 24 of our amazing Year 7-10 students took part in the annual Youth Conference at Blaby District Council! 🎤💡

💙 Morning Sessions:
✅ Hands-on resuscitation & first aid training 🏥
✅ Eye-opening cyber security insights 🔐
✅ Powerful knife crime awareness workshop & performance 🎭

⚖️ Afternoon Debate:
Our students joined local councillors to discuss how the council can better support young people in our community. Their voices were strong, their ideas were inspiring, and their leadership shone through! 👏

They left with valuable communication, citizenship, and leadership skills—and they were fantastic ambassadors for our academy. 💫

Hot Choc Friday 28th February!  ☕☕

Students who were nominated by their teachers for achieving success, showing resilience or just being a fantastic, respectful student, were rewarded with a special hot chocolate breakfast with Mrs Aitcheson and Mr Williams!

⭐⚽🏓Empowering Our Girls Through Sport!

💪🏅A group of our students recently took part in an inspiring GALs Day at Huncote Leisure Centre, where they trained as GALs Ambassadors! The day focused on understanding the barriers to female participation in sport and physical activity, equipping our students with the skills to create an action plan to encourage more girls to get involved.

🤸‍♂️🌟A highlight of the day was meeting British gymnast Becky Downie, who shared her incredible journey and motivated our students to drive positive change.

🏓✨Our newly trained ambassadors are now working on ways to promote girls’ sport within our school – watch this space for exciting initiatives!

⭐⭐⭐Thank you to the staff at the South Leicestershire School Sports Partnership and the Youth Sports Trust for organising the day!

Last week, our Year 12 and 13 students had the fantastic opportunity to hear from Phil Sterne, a Careers Coach and professional CV writer with experience in recruitment for companies like Amazon and Alton Towers.

Phil’s talk provided invaluable insights on choosing the right career path and gave students a step-by-step guide to crafting a standout CV.

To support this further, parents and carers of Year 12 & 13 students have been sent a Free Teenager CV Template, offering useful resources to help their young person with CV writing.

Students found the session incredibly informative and inspiring—a big thank you to Phil for sharing his expertise! 👏
