🎉 Exciting News! Countesthorpe Academy on BBC Breakfast and CBBC Newsround! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce that Countesthorpe Academy was featured on BBC Breakfast last Saturday and CBBC Newsround this week! 📺✨

The spotlight was on our incredible new eSports arena and our pioneering eSports BTEC course. Our state-of-the-art arena is equipped with the latest technology, providing our students with an unparalleled gaming experience. The eSports BTEC course is designed to give students a comprehensive education in the world of competitive gaming, covering everything from game strategy to event management. 🎮🏆

A special highlight was the amusing story of Mrs. Coulson, who was mistaken for a professional eSports player! 😂 Her enthusiasm and dedication to the eSports program have truly inspired us all.

We are immensely proud of our students who participate in the eSports course and those who attend the eSports club. Their passion and commitment are what make our program so successful. 🌟

A huge thank you to all the staff and students at Countesthorpe Academy who took part in making this possible. Your hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated. 🙌👏

Stay tuned for more exciting updates from Countesthorpe Academy! 🚀

WE ARE OPEN TUES 7th JAN 2025

Despite the recent inclement weather, enough roads into Countesthorpe and to our school are passable meaning that we will be open to all students on Tuesday 7th January 2025 as normal.

I understand that some public transport may have difficulty in reaching our school such as the 85 bus from South Wigston to Countesthorpe. We would ask that students travelling to school using public transport make every safe effort to do so, but if they are unable to reach school please report your child’s absence from school in the normal way.

Confidence bus – We have not received any communications to say the confidence bus services are not running so we presume that they are running as normal.

Extra Curricular Activities – all extra curricular activities have been cancelled for Tuesday 7th January 2025.

If for whatever reason your child is unable to attend school you must call and report your child’s absence in the usual way.

As you will no doubt be aware Countesthorpe and the surrounding villages have experienced some exceptional flooding resulting in restricted access to and from Countesthorpe.

While a number of roads appear to now be passable, many of the arterial routes to Countesthorpe are still flooded.

The situation does appear to be improving, however as this is still a fast moving situation, we will make an announcement on ***Tuesday 7th January 2025 at 7:00am*** via Email/SMS/Social Media as to whether the school is OPEN or CLOSED.

Finally, to all those people and families who have been deeply affected by the floods today, you are in our thoughts, and please contact us if there is anything we can do to help.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Aitcheson
Headteacher
