🌟 On Tuesday 24th June, our incredible Stephen Lawrence Ambassadors from Countesthorpe Academy attended a powerful student conference at De Montfort University. 🌍✨

Students from across Leicestershire came together to share the inspiring ways they are working to end racism and carry forward Stephen Lawrence’s legacy of hope, unity, and change. 💛

Our students were especially honoured to meet Baroness Doreen Lawrence, who attended the event to share her experiences and celebrate the amazing work being done by young people across the county. Her presence made the day even more meaningful and memorable. 🙏

We are so proud of our ambassadors for representing Countesthorpe with passion, purpose, and pride. Together, we are building a brighter, fairer future. 🙌

It was a fantastic way to celebrate their hard work, kindness, and contributions to our school community. 💙

Well done to all our stars – you’ve earned it! 🌟

Every Friday at CA, we take a moment to shine a spotlight on students who truly embody our values of Respect, Resilience, and Success.

Today, Mrs Aitcheson welcomed another group of incredible students for a well-deserved treat and a chat over hot chocolate (and maybe even a milkshake!). Whether it’s showing kindness, going the extra mile in class, or representing CA with pride, these students are making a real difference — and we couldn’t be prouder.

👏 Let’s give a big round of applause to this week’s nominees — you inspire us all!

Today we wrapped up the term with a special edition of Hot Choc Friday—on a Thursday! With the summer holidays just around the corner, we couldn’t miss the chance to celebrate our amazing students one last time.

Today’s winners took part in a special event where they met Liz Kendall, MP and government minister, to discuss and present issues that are important to them. From showing resilience and kindness to going above and beyond in their learning, these young people truly embody what it means to be part of CA. 🌟

This morning, our winners joined Mrs Aitcheson and Mr Williams for a well-deserved treat— milkshakes, cookies, and plenty of smiles all round! 🍫🥤

Well done to all our nominees—you continue to inspire us every day. 💙

The “Shaping SEND Futures Parent/Carer Connect” initiative, part of the NHS, provides drop-in support sessions for parents and carers of children with learning disabilities and/or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in the Hinckley and Bosworth area, Leicestershire.

The project aims to connect with children, young people, and their families to understand their unique needs, challenges, and goals. It promotes links to community-based services like support groups, educational support, youth activities, mental health services, and advocacy.

Families will be able to better understand and access statutory services within education, healthcare, and social care.

The sessions are held the last Thursday of every month from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the Broughton Astley Family Hub on Station Road.
