The PREP programme workshops are designed to provide a supportive environment to encourage personal growth and to help students build confidence.

Today, we celebrate our amazing students at Countesthorpe Academy with another delightful Hot Chocolate with the Head event! 🍫☕
Congratulations to this week’s winners, who have been nominated by their teachers for their outstanding achievements. These students truly embody the spirit of our academy. 👏
On Friday 11th of April, we will be holding a non-uniform day to raise money for various school projects including celebration events, lunchtime equipment, outdoor gym equipment, developing social areas etc
To join in, students are invited to wear their own clothes in return for a £1 donation.
Non-uniform day is something that students have requested we reintroduce, however in order to make the day a success we need your support in ensuring the following.
- Students wearing their own clothes must still wear appropriate clothing for school.
- Any students dressed inappropriately will be asked to change or we may call you to bring in appropriate clothing.
- Inappropriate dress includes cropped or strappy tops, very short skirts or shorts, items with offensive words or slogans etc.
- Students must still wear their lanyards as these are an essential part of their equipment for school and part of our safeguarding protocol.
- Students must ensure they are still equipped for school, including a school bag, pencil case, any books or homework required for the day. Students should have their PE kit if they have PE on that day.
If your child would like to take part, please send them in with £1 in cash, this will be collected at the school gate.
Students who do not wish to take part should come to school in their usual Countesthorpe Academy school uniform.
We have listened to student voice and we want to make this day a success and part of our academy calendar. However, we must guarantee students wear appropriate clothing, and meet our high expectations of behaviour and conduct throughout the day to ensure we can plan for further non-uniform days in the future.
Box Clever Theatre captivated Year 11 students at Countesthorpe Academy with a dynamic production of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, Macbeth. 🗡️
The performance, tailored specifically for the students, aimed to deepen their understanding of the play’s themes and characters while making the experience both engaging and educational.
Adding an interactive twist, the theatre company invited students to participate in the production, allowing them to step into the shoes of Shakespearean characters. This hands-on involvement not only made the performance more immersive but also helped students connect with the material on a personal level. 👑
Following the performance, Box Clever Theatre hosted a workshop where students learned how to embody the characters they had seen on stage. Through practical exercises and expert guidance, students explored the nuances of acting, gaining insights into character development and stage presence.
Overall, the production was a resounding success, leaving Year 11 students at Countesthorpe Academy inspired and more confident in their understanding and appreciation of Macbeth.

In a heart-warming initiative, Year 8 students at Countesthorpe Academy showcased their creativity and compassion during textile lessons by designing and creating blankets for donation to the local RSPCA centre.
The project not only honed their crafting skills but also instilled a sense of community and environmental responsibility as the students utilised donated and recycled materials to fashion the blankets. They then implemented a variety of specialist techniques they had been taught during textile lessons including tie dye, batik and applique, to add their own individual touches to the final products.
A meaningful trip to the RSPA Woodside Animal Centre in Leicester resulted in wonderful opportunities to interact with some of the animals, making the experience even more memorable! Whilst there, the students also received a talk on the amazing work the RSPCA undertakes along with a tour of the kennels and cattery.
The students were able to donate the handmade blankets themselves, along with tins of pet food, allowing them to see the project through from start to finish and providing a sense of satisfaction and a job well done! The joy and excitement were palpable as the students bonded with the animals, knowing their efforts would provide comfort for them.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the trip, and their actions serve as a reminder of the positive impact young people can have on their community.
If you are looking for a pet, please consider visiting the RSPCA, as many animals are waiting for their forever homes and your visit or donation could make a world of difference to these loving creatures.
