Today, our Year 7 students had a fantastic opportunity to immerse themselves in French culture at our special “French Café” event! 🍽️✨

With the help of our wonderful Year 9 students and staff, the Year 7s practiced their French ordering skills, asking for delicious breakfast staples like croissants 🥐 and hot chocolate ☕. It was a delightful way to bring their classroom learning to life!

To add to the fun, each table featured a languages quiz, challenging students to test their knowledge and learn even more about the French language and culture. 🧠🎉

Events like these are invaluable in helping our students develop their French skills in a real-world context. By engaging in practical activities, they gain confidence and fluency, making their language learning journey both enjoyable and effective. 🌟

Bravo to all our students for their enthusiasm and effort! 👏 We look forward to more exciting events that enrich our learning experiences at Countesthorpe Academy. 🎓✨

Today we celebrated the achievements of our eSports club who have not only been brilliant eSports players, but also were great ambassadors for the school on our recent national news segments.

With some sporting Comic Relief attire, our eSports club enjoyed their time with Mrs Aitcheson, and especially enjoyed their milkshakes and cookies!

Well done to all the students involved – you are all fantastic!

Countesthorpe Academy Students formed part of Leics Sing’s Choral Spectacular this week.

On Wednesday 17th March, students from Countesthorpe Academy formed part of a ‘Choral Spectacular’ by joining Leics Sing! to celebrate all things A Capella, alongside hundreds of other young voices from local Leicester and Leicestershire Primary, Secondary and SEND schools.

Under the expert guidance of Simon Lubkowski, renowned gold medal barbershop singer, the event showcased incredible talent and enthusiasm, focusing on different styles of A Capella, including modern, unaccompanied Choral, Barbershop and improvised/aural inspired pieces.

Students demonstrated immense commitment and dedication in the run up to the day through a combination of school and massed rehearsals, resulting in an amazing event which saw students singing their hearts out and creating beautiful harmonies.

The energy and passion displayed by everyone made the event truly ‘spectacular’ and gave real insight into the variety of music that can be created with voices only!

🌟Countesthorpe Academy had the incredible honor of welcoming the inspiring Stef Reid as part of our ASPIRE programme! 🌟

Stef delivered a powerful presentation to our students, sharing her journey and encouraging everyone to overcome challenges and aim for the very top. Her words were truly motivating and left a lasting impact on all of us. 💪✨

Stef Reid MBE PLY is a British Paralympic long jumper and sprinter. She is a World Champion, four-time Paralympian, triple Paralympic medallist, and five-time world record holder. Stef’s journey is remarkable; she lost her right foot in a boating accident at the age of 16, but she didn’t let that stop her from pursuing her dreams. She has competed for both Canada and Great Britain, winning medals at the Paralympic Games and World Championships.

The ASPIRE programme at Countesthorpe Academy aims to open students’ eyes to different career paths, ones they can only dream about. Every two weeks, a guest speaker attends to talk about their non-linear path to success, inspiring our students to think big and aim high.

Thank you, Stef, for showing us that with determination and resilience, we can achieve anything we set our minds to! 🙌

On 27th February, over 75 of our talented students took to the stage at the Albert Hall in Nottingham for an unforgettable night of dance! 💃🕺

From jazz to musical theatre to street dance, each performance was bursting with passion, energy, and creativity. 🎶🔥 The audience was fantastic, and we couldn’t be prouder of every single dancer who took part—you should all be so proud of yourselves!

A huge well done to our incredible dancers and supporters for making this event so special. 🎉👏

We also want to give a heartfelt thank you to Miss Sophie for her dedication to our dance club over the past few years. 💖 She has now secured a new job, and while we will miss her dearly, we wish her all the best in this exciting new chapter! 🌟

Hot Choc Friday 14th March!  ☕☕

Students who were nominated by their teachers for achieving success, showing resilience or just being a fantastic, respectful student, were rewarded with a special hot chocolate breakfast with Mrs Aitcheson!

Well done to all of the students who were nominated – they are all fantastic, amazing young people! ☕⭐

📅On Thursday 6th March, we held our annual Mock Interviews for Year 11 students and a select group of Y13s.

📚Students worked in Crew to prepare for the interviews by revising interview techniques and practicing answers for common interview questions.

👷‍♀️💼Students were interviewed by a wide range of employers from the engineering, logistics, healthcare and education sector alongside many others.

📝After their 10-minute interview, students received feedback from the employer so that they could evaluate their strengths and areas for improvements and better prepare for future interviews they will be having with employers and apprenticeship providers.

⚖Each employer also had the opportunity to select one of the students they saw to be awarded as their best interviewee, and those students will shortly be receiving certificates to celebrate their achievement.✨📜

👏A huge thank you to all the incredible employers who generously gave their time to support and inspire our students!🎓
