Young Carers —support available at CLCC

Young carers are young people who care for a parent who is ill or disabled or someone who cares for their siblings because their parent is ill or disabled.

Talking helps! If you are a young carer find someone that you can trust—this may be your tutor, a particular teacher or head of year – tell them what you do and ask them to inform Mrs Russell so that she can ensure you get all the support you need.

When the amount of care becomes too much or overwhelming, there is a danger of the stress affecting your own wellbeing.  This may affect your own health, other areas of your life including schoolwork and other relationships for example, with friends and family. It is really important you look after yourself. We can help you if you let us know.
