I would like to invite you to attend our virtual Years 7, 10 and 12 Parents’ Evening for students on Thursday 10th December 2020. This is an important evening and provides you with an opportunity to discuss your child’s learning, progress and transition back into school.
Countesthorpe Academy has introduced a new, intuitive, and easy to use online booking system called School Cloud. This system allows you to choose your own video call appointment times with subject teachers. Afterwards, you will receive an email confirming your appointments.

Appointments can be made from 4pm on 1st December 2020 and will close at 12pm on Tuesday 8th December. You can amend appointments online at any point before this closing time and date.
In order to manage an efficient schedule for all parents, carers, and teachers remotely, each video call is scheduled at five minutes per appointment, and will automatically end after this time has passed. There is a countdown bar which helpfully allows parents and teachers to prepare for this. If you have a consecutive appointment scheduled, the screen will display a Start Next Appointment button, which you will need to press to proceed.
Please note that:
- If you delay starting a call, or;
- leave and rejoin the call, it does not reset the timer or extend the duration for that appointment.
The appointment will always end at the scheduled times. Punctuality is critical to quality of the discussion, and the success of the evening. Therefore, we ask kindly that you log in and prepare to attend all appointments on time. Please do make use of the Attending Video Calls guide attached for further detail.
Please note that there will be further Parents’ Evening over the course of the year. It is not expected or indeed possible for parents and carers to attend all evenings. It is likely that on some evenings some teachers will be fully booked. Please note that parents who have made appointments but have already had contact with the subject teacher may be contacted with regards to their appointment being removed. This is to ensure a fair distribution of appointments. Please don’t forget that tutors and teachers can be contacted at any time throughout the year when there are issues to discuss.
