Remembrance and Two Minutes Silence

This week students at Countesthorpe Leysland Community College have helped to mark Remembrance Day with a number of displays, activities and a two minutes silence.

Students in Textiles club created a display to help commemorate the end of the First World War. The display features a Union Jack dress and a period style army officer's jacket draped in poppies that the students have created.

Our two minutes silence was held at both the Countesthorpe and Leysland buildings during break time. The start and end of the silence was signalled by Ben Turner and Freddie Pye who played "The Last Post".

We are really proud of the work our students have produced, and especially proud of the way in which all of our students came together today to mark this very special commemoration.
