Proposed New School Building Event Wednesday 15 May 2019 3.00pm – 7.30pm

I am delighted to inform you that we have had confirmation that Countesthorpe Leysland Community College will receive funding from the Department for Education as part of the Priority Schools Building Programme to rebuild part of the college.

This will mean that we will have a complete new build to replace the Leysland building. The new build will be located much closer to the Countesthorpe site removing the need for students to go across the path between lessons.  The new build will comprise of

  • 20 classrooms
  • 3 ICT rich classrooms
  • 4 Art Rooms
  • 1 Food Room
  • Activity Studio
  • Staff work rooms
  • Offices
  • Pupil and staff toilets
  • Pupil and staff changing rooms

We are incredibly excited about this as it will bring the two parts of the college much closer together as well as providing us with brand new facilities.

There will be an opportunity for you to view our proposals in advance of the submission of a planning application and to offer feedback, once complete, students and staff will move into the new build and the Leysland building will be demolished. There is a public consultation on Wednesday 15 May 2019 at the college from 3pm to 7.30pm, the attached flyer contains further information related to the event.  Please come along and you will be able to see plans and drawings of what the building and the site will look like.

I am sure you will agree this is a fantastic development for the college and I know you would want to support us in ensuring the plans are approved.

Yours sincerely

Mrs C. Aitcheson

Principal
