Mental Health Awareness Week

Over the last week as part of National Mental Health week, there has been a particular focus on mental health, and perhaps given the events of the last 12 months, the importance of this has never been greater.

We are absolutely dedicated to ensuring all our students and staff are aware of the importance of good mental health, and provide a number of support options, including some “in house” and also 3rd party professional services.

We are extremely proud of our award winning, student led, “Let’s Talk” initiative. Let’s Talk is a peer support system run by Sixth form students that gives our Year 7 to 11 students an opportunity to seek help from a trained group of Sixth formers who many find easier to relate to and discuss their issues with. Please see this poster for details about Let’s talk and make sure your child knows about this great service - https://www.clcc.college/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Mental-health-awareness-week.pdf

Whether your child needs help now or not, talking about mental health is important. This leaflet supports parents in discussing the subject with their children, helping them to learn how best assist their child - https://www.clcc.college/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Anna-Freud-Mental-Health-Leaflet-2021.pdf

If you have any questions about supporting your child’s mental health please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
