Astro Academy

It is with great excitement that the Science department invites you to a public lecture delivered by Mr Andrew McMurray, of the National Space Centre.

The event will be held in the Countesthorpe theatre on Tuesday May 2nd starting at 6.00-7.30pm and will include explanations and experiments from the Astro Academy: Principia, a unique Education programme carried out by Tim Peake aboard the International Space Station.

A group of our Physics students and science enthusiasts have already been a part of the programme through a visiting lecturer, Ali Panju, who has taken them on a ‘journey to a comet’, launching rockets, experimenting with the thrust created by exhaust gases and pondering the space in space.

If you would like to come to the lecture and see some of the experiments that Tim Peake conducted during his time in space plus many other interesting areas of space research, just send an email to kfox@clcc.college and request the number of seats that you require.

This presentation is suitable for all ages and we would love to see students bringing their families.  Entry is free and there will be refreshments available.  Any enquiries, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

Mrs Kathryn Fox
