Launch of My Ed App for Parents and Important Year 13 News

We are delighted to announce the launch of our new app: My Ed.  This letter explains how you download the app and the main features.  We are rolling it out one year group at a time.  This week we launch Year 13 as new information is available on your child’s effort and currently working at grades in each of their subjects.

The app will show you information about attendance, achievements and behaviour alongside the most recent reports on progress and effort.  We hope you find the app useful and that it sparks conversation at home and productive discussion around next steps.

Over the coming weeks Year 13 students should be focused on the upcoming mock examinations. Mocks will take place in every subject between 13th and 24th November.  Given that these are two year courses, students are being encouraged to develop long-term memory strategies and ensure they know the content from Year 12. Please encourage your child to take revision seriously and demonstrate their true potential.  Time spent wisely revisiting topics now will be fresher when they come to the end of the year and final examinations.

Some key dates for your diary:

UCAS Application Forms: Whilst many students have already completed their UCAS application forms, we would urge any outstanding applications to be submitted as soon as possible.

Mock examinations – 13th – 24th November

Mock examinations results day – 14th December (information made available to parents on My Ed app

Information on how to download the app is below.  Once downloaded the app will store and be the place to go to see interim reports on progress.  Without the app these will still arrive as a link via a text message.  We think having all the reports available in the app in one place is a much better option with the added benefit of being able to see attendance, achievement and behaviour logs. Should you require a paper copy of an interim report, please let us know.  Please note that it can take up to 24 hours from setup for your children to appear. Should you have any questions about the app, please email app@clcc.college.

The autumn term is set to be a very busy one for our Year 13 students.  With your support and encouragement at home we look forward to seeing some very positive results from this year group. With that in mind, please take the time to discuss the latest interim report on progress this week with your child.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. J. Sleath

Principal
